Keys to the Heart 그것만이 내 세상

Directed by: Choi Sung-hyun (최성현)

Starring: Lee Byung-hun (이병헌), Youn Yuh-jung (윤여정), Park Jung-min (박정민)

The Film/Synopsis: Although once a WBC Welterweight Champion, Jo-ha (Lee Byung-hun) is now just a washed-up former boxer going nowhere. After 17 years of separation, Jo-ha and his mother In-suk (Youn Yuh-jung) are reunited one day by chance. In need of room and board, he follows his mother home where he unexpectedly meets his younger brother Jin-tae (Park Jung-min) whom he has never seen or heard of before.

Jin-tae is great at boiling ramen and playing video games, but above all he is a true savant when it comes to playing the piano. But since Jin-tae only seems to speak the word “Yes”, Jo-ha is left sighing to himself. Until Jo-ha can save enough money to go to Canada, he must endure pains of his new uncomfortable living situation.

From the production team that brought us Himalayas (2015) and Confidential Assignment (2017), Keys to the Heart looks very promising. Lee Byung-hun is probably Korea’s most famous male actor from classics like A Bittersweet Life (2005) and Joint Security Area (2000) and can be seen in several western productions like G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra (2009) and Terminator: Genisys (2015). The young actor Park Jung-min has impressed audiences and critics alike with his breakout performances in Dongju: Portrait of a Poet (2015) and The Artist: Reborn (2016).
