5 Ways TERMINATOR GENISYS Fails

I've outlined 5 different ways that the new Terminator movie fails.

1. Confusing plot, and plot holes galore

The movie is pretty confusing, and there are so many plot holes. Here’s the plot from what I remember on my first view:

So, Kyle Reese is sent back in time to save John Connor’s mother from being killed by Skynet, but the timeline he goes back to is actually an alternate universe, and on his way back he learned new memories from his alternate universe life, and when he finally arrives to the timeline, Sarah Connor already knew he was coming, and after killing the T-1000 she will travel to 1997, but that is changed to 2017 because Reese’s new memory gave hints that is the new Judgement Day, unfortunately John Connor turned into a Terminator and was also sent back to make sure the new judgement day occurs.

So lets attack this James Cameron approved storyline:

  • If Kyle Reese is sent accidentally to an alternate universe, how come the John Connor from his universe also makes it to the alternate Universe?
  • If Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese time travel to 2017, doesn’t that mean John Connor was never born?
  • Which universe sent Pops to protect Sarah Connor?
  • Why did Skynet send back the T-800 AND the T-1000?
  • If Sarah Connor was attacked by the T-1000 in the past, but how did the T-800 kill it with a rocket launcher?
  • John Connor knows so much information in the future, but his mother was the one that trained him, but she died in the past, so how does he know so much of his own future, but still doesn’t know someone infiltrated his group?

The Fix: Keep it simple. Sometimes when you try to answer one confusing thing, a lot more questions are brought up.

Dishonorable mentions:

  • They killed off the T-1000 so early!
  • The dependency of the previous films.
  • Did they play the main theme song?
  • The title …

In a movie with so much exposition, how come I left the theater way more confused?
