Jung Woo-sung, Ju Ji-hoon and Jung Man-sik bring down the house (JIFF 2017)

Asura: The City of Madness actors and director given a rockstar's welcome.

Initially released last fall, Asura: The City of Madness has unfortunately failed to earn the support of mainstream Korean film viewers. Thankfully, the Jeonju International Film Festival has rightfully recognized Asura as being one of the most important Korean films to screen last year and has made it part of its Jeonju Dome Screening section.

So Saturday evening’s Jeonju Dome screening was a true treat for fans of the film (known as Asurians) and everyone else in attendance that featured guest visits by three of it’s leading actors that included Jung Woo-sung, Ju Ji-hoon and Jung Man-sik. Also in attendance was the film’s director, Kim Sung-su, whose diverse filmography includes includes Beat (1997), Musa: The Warrior (2001), Please Teach Me English (2003) and The Flu (2013). Kim Sung-su previously worked with Jung Woo-sung on both Beat and Musa. Stay tuned for a full review of Asura: The City of Madness.
